I haven’t blogged many engagement shoots this year – I try and keep the blog a real mix of stuff, and although I’d love to blog all my very amazing engagement shoots I fear you’d get a bit swamped. I did choose to blog Liz & David’s shoot for two reasons – firstly I’m finishing off the edit on their wedding as we speak, and secondly it’s a perfect example of a perfectly imperfect London location. I love London engagement shoots – picking a location that means something to you, not to me – the place you fell in love, or your first date, or the place you performed in a comedy improv troupe together – that makes me very happy indeed.
I’d not met Liz & David before we met for the shoot, and in the hour or so we spent together got a good feel for how their wedding would be; got to know them; what they loved, how they met – things that for me make a real difference. I want to get to know you both and not much counts as oversharing.
I didn’t know Maida Vale really – Having always lived in East and more recently South East London I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been there so no scoping out, no fancy props, no pre-meeting; just light, a bit of history, time spent getting to know one another and a bit of photographic magic.
I can’t wait to share some shots form their amazing wedding day soon.
