SNAP PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL // STYLED SHOOTS – EARTH & AIR
I could say so many things about what a fabulous time I had at the Snap photography festival, learning from other passionate and talented photographers and creatives, singing round the campfire and putting the world to right over drinks. So much to learn, take in, so much room for growth and personal improvement and a new way of thinking about life, weddings and creativity. It came at just the right time, and I’m ready to hit the ‘big’ wedding season with a bang. For me, and although those who know me well would probably disagree I can be a bit introverted (that’s what Myers-Briggs say anyway) and being surrounded by 75 virtual strangers for five days in the middle of Wales was a challenge at times and I’m still kicking myself a little bit for not throwing myself into meeting new people and making new friendships as much as I might like to have done – there were loads of impromptu shoots, visits to the beach, cameras out in the beautiful evening sun and I would love to have spent more time photographing the other ‘Snapsters’, as the attendees have come to be known.
One thing I did do, however, was take the opportunity to photograph some of the styled shoot areas at the Festival, co-ordinated by bloggers Mr&Mrs Unique and B.Loved and styled by Alex at the Bijou Bride. The themes were Earth and Air, and although the areas themselves were beautiful and I’m sure the images created will be shared in due course, for me, working with people and creating editorial style portraits is where it’s at. I had the chance to shoot the gorgeous model Anna for both looks, and although somewhere I seem to have done a dark moody look for Air, and a brighty airy one for Earth (oops) I love the results.
