This one is a little bit special….
Years ago, in fact in 2007, so 8 years ago, I started working for a company called White Stuff as a Buyer’s Assistant on the menswear department – and there I met the wonderful Emma. She was truly lovely, and super stylish (I was always super envious of her ability to look good regardless, especially when I could barely dress myself in the morning).
In that year Emma went to Benicassim and met a boy whilst watching Dinosaur Jr – Fran. She went back to his home town of Barcelona a few months later, managed to accidentally dye her hair green, and came back smitten. I remember hearing all about Fran and as their relationship blossomed he moved to be with her in London.
They are now living in sunny Barcelona – Emma’s Instagram feed full of beachside drinking and delicious food drives me wild with envy but I was absolutely delighted when they asked if I’d document their day. And what an amazing day it was – held at the Pittodrie House Hotel in Aberdeenshire, with Bennachie behind us, and a ceremony in the shadow of the mountain. The grounds of the hotel are full of hidden gems like tumbledown old cottages, and decaying greenhouses – basically right up my slightly unusual street.
Being a Scottish-Spanish fusion wedding – these lot know how to party – hard, and after the ceilidh, out came the fancy dress, confetti bombs, inflatable guitars and stage invasions; before we all we boarded the coach home to bed, still clutching our drinks and singing along.
Emma’s absolutely amazing dress is by Jenny Packham.
