JEN & OWEN – A LONDON ELOPEMENT

When Jen & Owen got in touch about their London elopement, I was over the moon.

Not only had I been wanting to shoot an elopement for ages, but I knew this one was going to be extra special – I loved the sound of what they had planned – essentially a wild weekend in London, getting married on a weekday with a tasting menu at one of London’s best restaurants with just me, and Jan who filmed the wedding, as witnesses and then spending Saturday with their very best friends, (Jen in some precariously high heels) at Proud Cabaret.

The two of them are actually incredibly mushy, and although they initially wanted quite fashion-y shots, for me the true joy was in peeling back those layers and delivering something that had a real soul.

They got ready at Bethnal Green’s town hall hotel, a perennial favourite of mine before we headed out onto the streets of Shoreditch to shoot. Crazy traffic on the way over to Chelsea Town Hall and a, shall we say, less than assertive taxi driver, meant a mad scramble down the Kings Road to get to the register office on time. And finally, after cake we shot after dark, by the gorgeous Albert Bridge, and on the seedy streets of Soho…
