Anisha & Christie – a lesbian Hindu wedding
At the Barns at Lodge Farm
Anisha & Christie’s day at the Barns at Lodge Farm was another small slice of 2023 magic. At one of my favourite venues just outside London, it’s full of genuine rural charm – no orange wood barns here.
A lesbian Hindu WEDDING ceremony by Chandra Vyas
Anisha & Christie chose a modern take on the traditional Hindu wedding ceremony, led by the UK’s first female Hindu priest – Chandra Vyas. Sat on the beautifully decorated stage, decorated by the incredible Starry Eyed Weddings, they incorporated elements like the sacred fire and the seven steps, but removing any patriarchal elements that didn’t represent them and their relationship.
Then onto their civil legal ceremony in the barn itself – and oh, that light. It really is quite something – and then on to fun times, food, speeches and lots of dancing.
Golden hour at the Barns
Of course it feels somehow obligatory to take a walk after dinner to the far side of the site to get some golden hour photos – sometimes with the UK’s wildly unpredictable Summers, it feels like beautiful sunsets were somewhat few and far between, so we have to grab them while we can!
AWESOME SUPPLIER TEAM WHO MADE THE DAY EPIC
Second shooter – the incredible Jess Rose.
Florals and styling – Starry Eyed Weddings.
On the day co-ordination – Nina – formerly of Occasion Queens
Anisha’s glam – Timea Statie
If you’re planning a lesbian Hindu wedding, I’d love to chat to you about photography – I offer coverage with both digital photography and a smattering of 35mm; as well as highlights films, or why not take a look at some more LGBTQ weddings over here.
