Microweddings and elopements

London microwedding photographer

Specialist shorter coverage for intimate weddings

I’m Ellie, and I’m a wedding photographed based between London and beautiful Norfolk. I’ve been shooting gorgeous weddings for 12years and have photographed over 360 in that time in 7 different countries, all kinds of locations and all kinds of conditions!

I loved shooting smaller, more intimate weddings during the pandemic, that I wanted to continue offering shorter coverage where I can.

I’ll do everything I can to make sure your tiny wedding is fun, and your photos are just as awesome as the bigger weddings I shoot, and you’ll receive the same love and care with all of your images as a convenient digital download.

I’ll be offering short coverage weddings as an ‘off-peak’ service – that means weekdays and anytime Jan-March. But if your microwedding falls into a different date, it’s still worth getting in touch as I may have some late notice availability.

Coverage starts from £850

The Ultimate Microwedding Guide

Pandemic era advice that still rings true – how to make it beautiful, how to find a venue, how to build a guest list and how to include those you couldn’t invite.

Smaller, more intimate weddings can be every bit as stylish as their larger counterparts.

If you choose to have fewer people at your wedding, for whatever reason works for you – you can use it as an opportunity to do things just the way you want. From the very best food in amazing restaurants, staying in a bougie hotel through to having the chance to truly get some amazing photos because you’re spending less time wondering if your Aunt Susan or your work colleagues are having a nice time.

kind words

Alice & Gareth

Ellie was a pleasure to work with on our special day. From our first zoom meeting where we went over our plans, we felt we were in good hands with her. And when COVID changed all of our plans she was kind and flexible on the changes we needed to make. On the day she was brilliant with everyone, taking great photos and ensuring we got all the shots we needed and many more we would never have thought of! I would not hesitate to work with Ellie again or recommend her to others for their special occasion.

So what Might your Microwedding coverage look like?

So what’s your coverage going to look like or include? I’m going to talk you through what we can usually achieve in 2, 3 or 4 hours of coverage. If you need more, that’s doable too and I can always put together something custom for you.

2 Hours of coverage

This is my minimum booking – you can use less time if you really want to, but I find that it’s a bit of a squeeze, and 2 hours realistically works much better. This option is perfect for elopements, or maybe you’re having a small ceremony with just two witnesses. Or maybe the coverage is part of a bigger celebration later.

Our timeline together might look something like this, I’ve based it around a pretend 12pm wedding ceremony just for illustrative purposes!

11.40 – Start – couple and guests arrive at Town Hall or ceremony venue.

12.00 – Ceremony

12.30-12.40 ish – Ceremony finished. Everyone leaves. Confetti on steps.

12.40-12.50 ish – Group photos. How long this will take depends a bit on how ‘micro’ your micro wedding or elopement is but generally if your guests are right there, it tends to be quite quick.

12.50-13.40 – Time to do whatever. It might look like a long time, but it gives you time to hug everyone, for me to get some gorgeous candid, natural shots and for us to head off and get some photos of the two of you. This can be as extensive or brief as you like, but one of the nice things about small/short coverage wedding photography is that it gives us the opportunity to go somewhere fabulous, and take our time so we don’t feel rushed. I suggest finding somewhere for your guests to go, or sending them on to wherever you’re celebrating so we can get 20-30 mins of shots of the two of you and the rest of the coverage will be documentary.

3 Hours of coverage

As above but you can extend the coverage in either direction – maybe you want the tail end of you getting ready, or perhaps you’re going for lunch in a private dining room and there’ll be some informal toasts.

4 Hours of coverage

If you choose this you can have both some coverage of you getting ready, and then some of the first part of your reception/lunch/lovely alternative celebration. In the above timeline it might look something like this.

10.40 – Start at hotel

11.20 – leave for Town Hall

(Timeline as above)

13.30 – head to private dining room at restaurant.

Natural coverage of drinks reception, details and room.

14:00 – Speeches/toasts

14:30 – coverage finishes

So this option gives you quite comprehensive coverage of your micro or intimate wedding celebration.
