Getting ready at The Ned hotel
Lauren and Richard both started their respective days getting ready at the incredibly chic The Ned, right in the heart of The City. They made it part of their mini-moon by staying for an extra couple of nights, but it is a photographer’s playground – if you want epic getting ready shots this should definitely be on your list of venues to consider – the rooms are flooded with natural light, are stylishly decorated (and the included glassware sure looks pretty too) and there’s a sort of ‘hidden’ corridor on the 6th floor that was just perfect for their first look pre ceremony.
After they’d seen each other (and honestly, these things definitely leave me with less than dry eyes!) we headed out onto the streets surrounding the Bank of England and the steps of the Royal Exchange – there was something incredibly chic and minimal about all this pale stone and way it leant itself to the composition, it got me questioning why I don’t use it as a location more often
Then off to a Marylebone Town Hall wedding ceremony

A Wedding reception at The Singer Tavern
I’ve been itching to photograph a wedding at The Singer Tavern for ages and ages and it didn’t disappoint, like many bars in the City, it plays host to after work drinks during the week, but is a rather glorious events space at the weekends. Harrild & Sons is one of their sister venues, so if you’ve seen SJ & Sean’s wedding there, you get the vibe. Upstairs it’s all lush green plants, gin tiles and 70s style wood panelling with a large and rather grand bar at the centre, downstairs it’s all industrial themed with a nod to the building’s heritage as the Singer sewing machine factory (a detail I enjoy as an occasional sewist) and perfect for after dark cocktails and dancing on the tables.
I’m rather pleased to say that The Singer fully lived up to the hype and I am available for all future wedding shenanigans there. Lauren & Richard opted for my photography and highlights film package, and the awesome Libby Christensen was the second photographer who came along for the ride and some of her shots feature here.
