E & M – Chelsea Town Hall wedding

The last wedding before lockdown
The 29th Feb is a kind of magical date anyway, occurring only once every four years, it became especially poignant to me as the last wedding before the coronavirus pandemic became serious and most of my work for 2020, that I had been beyond excited about, was postponed. I was lucky enough to have a busy Jan and Feb and I’ve shared some of my favourites from those days over on Instagram, but I do hope my ‘end of 2020’ roundup features a little more.
A Chelsea Town Hall wedding ceremony
I’m not sure if there’s anything more chic than a fairly intimate wedding ceremony at Chelsea Town Hall – something about those iconic steps up to the Town Hall, exiting into the sophisticated chaos of the Kings Road – upmarket shoppers, daytrippers and MIC types. I think it has a special kind of magic.
This wedding proves that an intimate town-hall-and-pub wedding can be seriously stylish. With the event design talents of Holly at Revelry Events at the fore, and with florals by Wild Renata, the upstairs room at The Prince Albert in Battersea was transformed from upstairs pub dining room, into something really rather lovely.
E & M also chose to have me create a highlights video for them, which I absolutely loved. I know that having a video created for intimate weddings usually seems like it will be overly fussy, or spoil the mood, or be really expensive, and by adding on a highlights film, it’s none of those things.
Chilled reception at The Prince Albert, Battersea
As mentioned above, they held their wedding reception at the Prince Albert in Battersea – situated just over the road from the park, and just down from the Albert Bridge, it actually has a great little function room a the top – which as this wedding shows – can be made to look seriously lovely.
Being super close to the aforementioned park and the bridge means that they’re just across the road for some really beautiful wedding photos too.
