Lucie & Tommy – a Core Clapton wedding

A Core Clapton Wedding

You need to check out this mega cool Core Clapton wedding. Take one Babin’ tattooed, pink haired bride, a handsome beardy trainer enthusiast groom; add in lots and lots of pink, a cadillac, a healthy nod to a 50s aesthetic, a blank canvas Hackney venue, neon signs from Vowed & Amazed and a gentle scattering of tropical blooms. Throw in an epic party, burgers for dinner and a night stuffed full of UK garage classics and you have a recipe for wedding awesomeness.

Lucie & Tommy’s day started in different corners of the (now sadly defunct, but replaced by the apparently equally lovely 100 Shoreditch) Ace Hotel in Shoreditch – the girls getting ready on a baking hot day out on the balcony overlooking the Shoreditch rooftops, with retro style sets by Hair by Lucie

Wedding ceremony at Hackney Town Hall

The council chamber at Hackney Town Hall was the setting for Lucie’s Parents wedding, so it made perfect sense that they should get married there themselves – arriving in said Pink Cadillac, they made quite a stir arriving on Mare Street. The ceremony itself was short and sweet, and they exited the town hall to lashings of confetti.

Core Clapton reception venue

Core Clapton was the perfect art deco dry hire space. They designed and staged everything themselves, which I can’t quite believe (seriously – how talented are my couples?). Core Clapton definitely gets my nod as one of my favourite blank canvas warehouse wedding venues – it’s a big Edwardian Hall above an osteopathy clinic, which wouldn’t necessarily be the first choice to look for a wedding venue – but the best ones are often the most unassuming!

This was a mega-fun, mega-colourful day full of love, so without further ado….
