The Chateau Provence wedding – Amy & Ben
DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER PROVENCE
So brace yourselves, it’s a long one.
Back in the heat of July, I headed to the beautiful town of Uzés for Amy & Ben’s wedding at The Chateau Provence in the nearby village of Saint-Maximim, amongst the vineyards and Roman ruins. This beautifully renovated old chateau stands in the heart of the village, with the whole wedding happening in the middle of it’s old stone walls. Amy & Ben travelled all the way from Australia, where they live to celebrate with their British friends and families.
This was an incredible day with a stylish couple, plenty of Cremant, gold accents, amazing food, swords slicing croquembuches and everything in between. The Provencal light is pretty amazing – if I could move and always shoot there I would – and makes everything look just so.
Anyway, I’m sure that’s enough waffle from me, onto the photos….
Uzés itself is a beautiful town and a great place to while away a few days in the South of France. It’s pedestrianised town centre is home to loads of awesome places to eat and to drink the local wine and is extremely pretty, and a short drive away is the iconic Pont Du Gard and the River Gard, which was beautiful -lined by limestone cliffs.
We stayed at the rather lovely Tour de Sarrazine in the nearby village of Montaren Et St Medier (which coincidentally is where we spent our own mini moon back in 2009!) and relived that by drinking beer, eating beautiful heirloom tomatoes and catching rays on our own private sun terrace and spending time by the pool with their three rather glorious dogs. Turning work into a rather lovely laid back mid season break at the same time.
