Alessia & Mitch – a Stoke Newington Micro Wedding
An intimate wedding at Stoke Newington Town Hall
Alessia & Mitch were one of the first couples to book me for their 2020 wedding; back when the plan was to have around 80 guests and a whole pub filled with laughter and merriment. They ducked, dived and responded to the restrictions at every step of the way, originally downsizing to a wedding of 30 guests but when they found out that Alessia’s family wouldn’t be able to fly in from Canada due to border restrictions they pared it all the way back to just the two of them, with their friends acting as witnesses.
Originally their families had no idea they were actually going to get married on their original wedding date until, from the council chamber at Stoke Newington Town Hall, they dialled in to a Zoom meeting with their families. Surprise!
After the ceremony, and photos in Clissold Park, we headed to the nearby Rose & Crown, when the straight forward rule of six applied in London, and celebrated by raising a beer. Absolute bliss.
I absolutely adored photographing this wedding. I feel it just goes to show how beautiful tiny weddings can be – they’re no less full of love and wonder. I can’t wait to photograph their party and big celebration, whenever that might be.
Here’s to weddings being back, and celebrating love in all its forms.
