Sophia & Christian – A Norwich wedding at The Flint Rooms

A Norwich wedding at The Flint Rooms

Sophia and Christian got married in their (and my) current hometown of Norwich, and their celebration couldn’t have felt more authentically them. When the Pandemic forced them to cancel their original reception venue, they found The Flint Rooms. A location which usually only provides a cool but still grand space for ceremonies and a quick tipple, but on this occasion let them hold their afternoon reception there too including an awesome silent disco.

Wedding ceremony at Norwich Castle

Starting at Norwich Castle with a ceremony in the galleries, and a stop off to an amazing location near their home for some couple photos, before popping in for some shots with their gorgeous pets. After that we hopped back in the mint green camper and headed back to the Flint Rooms for Redwell Brewery beers and yummy veggie nosh courtesy of the Ber Street Kitchen. I also can’t get enough of Sophia’s style with not one, not two but three different dresses.

The staff at The Flint Room were some of the friendliest I’ve met, and the place feels quintessentially Norwich. Maybe because it’s in a converted church (urban legend has it that Norwich had a church for every week of the year, and many of them are now arts centres, antiques shops or artists studios), or maybe it’s the eclectic style – comfy old sofas, strange objects and oodles of candles and fairylights.

I live for urban weddings, and although I shoot most of them in London, it was wonderful to be part of one so close to home. More please!
