Henham Park Wedding – Katie & Jack
Super stylish Henham Park wedding
I feel a bit like I preface all my recent blog posts by talking about how the couple in question had to postpone their wedding – I guess that’s the nature of the beast in 2022. Katie and Jack were no different, needing to postpone their wedding at the beautiful Henham Park weddings, the site of the Latitude festival, twice. But somehow it made everything that much sweeter – they had planned an adults only full-on party wedding, but the arrival of their son Freddie, as well as numerous other smalls that were nowhere on the agenda back in 2020, meant that this became a big fun family party. And as I’m sure you’ll see, when you look at their wedding photography in a mo, it reallllly was a party.
Celebrant led wedding in Suffolk
They chose to have their ceremony on Henham Park’s iconic bridge – a huge part of the identity of the festival, with Jack’s dad performing the ceremony and various friends and family members giving heartfelt readings.
As an aside – They found the same situation, as with some friends of mine who were planning a wedding ceremony on the beach. Some registrars will offer a ‘duo’ ceremony which means they can perform the legally binding ceremony indoors or at another time, and then also come and do the ceremony in an outside space. But that performing the outside ceremony came with so many whatifs, they that decided that an alternative wedding ceremony was for them. If you are dead set on having your wedding ceremony outside then I strongly suggest either hiring a humanist celebrant or finding a friend who’s an excellent public speaker and doing it just the way you want.
On their original wedding date, the owner of Henham had invited K&J to come and camp in the glade, something that I guess would never have happened in alternative circumstances
The Barn at Henham Park
The wedding action then moved back up to the main barn; drinks in the courtyard before Katie and Jack entered into the room, partaking in a victory lap and high-fiving or hugging all of their guests who whooped and cheered. They spoke, they raised glasses, there was ukulele singalongs, there was more glasses raised (shot glasses this time), they was the most incredible confetti moment during the first dance and then they partied – hard – to the epic FloMotion.
What an absolute delight to photograph this wedding at Henham Park, someone take me back!
