HAYLEY & GARETH – A VOEWOOD HOUSE PARTY WEDDING
VOEWOOD WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
I was unusually excited for Hayley & Gareth’s wedding, not only was it my first big wedding of the 2016 season, but I’d been longing to shoot at Voewood House in Norfolk for quite some time. In fact I even contemplated it for mine and Joss’ wedding, seven years ago. A rambling, bohemian arts and crafts house, deep in the beautiful North Norfolk countryside and a stones throw from the Georgian Town of Holt it’s one incredible space. (and with the North Norfolk railway in tooting distance). Full of weird and wonderful artifacts, arts, photographs, collected odds and ends and with a large poster of Bowie looking out at the crowd in the main hall.
The day was full of laughter, lots of confetti, a casino, fish & chips, some beautiful light, nighttime sparklers, and some serious dancefloor shapes. It was also a fantastically DIY wedding – Hayley & her bridesmaids (her lovely sisters, who welcomed me in like one of the family) made the bouquets, her flower crown and put together all the table decorations, and the bridal party took it in shifts to change the room round from ceremony to dinner, and did it in record time.
I’m actually looking forward to visiting Voewood several more times this year – getting to see it as the season’s change. Bring on the rest of the year!
Here’s just 20 or so frames from their big day – keeping it short and sweet for my first 2016 blog post.
