The Barn at Botley Hill

Botley Hill barn is a stunning contemporary barn wedding venue in Surrey, tucked just inside the M25 (so technically in London I guess, but miles away from the madness). It boasts a rustic ceremony room, and the most gorgeous modern ‘barn’ space with huge crittall style picture windows taking in a beautiful view of the North Downs Surrey landscape and a contemporary wooden clad ceiling. It’s bright, modern, easy to access and downright gorgeous. So it was no surprise to be overwhelmed with how good the styling looked for Nikki & Richard’s wedding in July 2021.

Today I wanted to bring you a different kind of blog post – so much of me sharing my work is all about the story telling, hoping to sweep you up in all the little moments of the day. But this is purely about the aesthetics – the gorgeous contemporary florals, signage and even the cake, that helped dress the space and make it look awesome.

Combining a punchy and contemporary red and pink colour palette in their stationary; tables named after famous movie couples (my favourite, of course, being Zero & Agatha), modern and sculptural florals by My Lady Garden , a cool scalloped cake and signage by Sylvie Signs; the look was modern and super cool. I hope it might inspire you to do something bold in a country venue. And although I’m focussed on the details for this blog post, it was a super fun wedding – if restrictions tell you you’re not allowed to dance indoors, then your guests are going to have a wild time dancing in the rain!

Botley Hill Barn is an exclusive use venue with on site glamping accommodation in Shepherd’s Huts. Their space is split into three main areas – The Oakley Barn, which is licensed for ceremonies. The Baby Barn, which acts as a kind of bar area and an elegant space for drinks receptions and the Main Barn, which is the beautiful space you see above – as well as having grounds with beautiful views.
